Posterior Tibialis Tenosynovitis

The muscle involved here controls excessive inward rolling of the foot. Strain or overuse of this muscle will result in inflammation. High jumpers often have problems with this muscle of the take off leg.
Treatment
Rest for 10 days - when training is resumed increase mileage very gradually
Foot position must be controlled - by the use of an orthotic in the shoe
Mileage must be decreased, then slowly increased
ICE twice day for 12 minutes

Anti-inflammatory tablets
Shin splints
