Exercise Ball Exercises
Introduction  |  Orientation and Stretches  |  Strengthening / Trunk & Abdominal  |  Strengthening / Hip & Balance
The Exercise ball or Fitball® as it is also known has traditionally been used in the treatment of orthopaedic problems and neurological development and in recent years it has become commonplace in the fitness industry. It can be used in a complete fitness training programme and is invaluable in the training of our mid section or 'core'. The exercise ball can help with:
Balance, control and co-ordination
Core stability
Workouts that are two and three-dimensional rather than one
Progressing exercises easily from simple to challenging to the extreme and beyond
Over the next few pages are a few samples of the exercises possible using an exercise ball, which should be carried out on a non-slip surface.

Balance balls are available at the Berkshire Physiotherapy Centre at £15 each, please contact the clinic for more information or to purchase an exercise ball along with instructions and advice.
